I’m Deborah (Deb) Wile Dib, President of Advantage Resumes of New York. At this time I am the only career professional to hold the combination of elite personal branding, resume writing, interview training, and career coaching credentials and certifications listed above (and described below).These certifications stand for things of which I am very proud — achievement of excellence in cutting edge personal branding, resume writing, job search coaching, and career management coaching; adherence to ethical business standards; and commitment to continuous updating of employment knowledge and skills. At Advantage, we’re always searching for the latest in resume writing and career trends. We regularly attend (and present at) multiple annual conventions for professional resume writers and career consultants, exchange information with hundreds of colleagues via e-mail bulletin boards, and read, read, read. We believe that sharing knowledge is important and we use many venues to do so. Over 120 samples of my resumes, cover letters, and career tips are featured in over twenty-five career books. I’ve been quoted and profiled in print and on the web, and I speak on resume writing and career topics at careers industry conferences, in the media. I also speak on executive career issues and trends at professional organizations and in business workshops. Committed to ensuring high standards in my industry, I have in many leadership roles, and am active in many career industry organizations. I served for the past three+ years on the board of directors (Master Team) of the Career Masters Institute (www.CMInstitute.com), where I am "Resume Master." I was a co-founder of NRWA (The National Resume Writers' Association-- www.nrwaweb.com) where I served in leadership positions for six years as editor-in-chief of the NRWA professional journal and as a member of NRWA's Certification Commission (the governing body for the NCRW--Nationally Certified Resume Writer credential). In my life "before Advantage" I earned my stripes with over twenty years in training and development, sales management, and buying. Bottom-line? Personal Brand
Strategist (CPBS) At Advantage Resumes of New York, we firmly believe in certification and the promise of competency and success that it represents to our clients. Deborah Wile Dib holds seven certifications in personal branding, career coaching, and resume writing (an important component in career advancement practices). In fact, she is the only professional in the careers-industry to hold this combination of top credentials. They are:
Certified Personal Brand Strategist (CPBS) Recognizing the benefit of a formal process for the executive branding that she had been doing for years, Deb was among first personal brand strategists to be certified and is now part of Reach's elite global "Personal Branding Advance Team" The Reach Personal Branding methodology is a comprehensive, three-step process for uncovering, communicating and nurturing your personal brand. It is the result of 20 years of corporate branding expertise applied to the new world of work and the current challenges faced by entrepreneurs, small business owners, executives, and professionals. Developed by William Arruda, the personal branding guru, and proven with thousands of clients and participants, this methodology is the future of career management and is essential to expanding professional and personal success.
Credentialed Career
Master (CCM) This elite credential must be applied for and renewed yearly. It is given to candidates who prove master-level ability in their area of specialty and across-the-board competency in all areas of the careers industry. Candidates must earn 30 CEUs annually, perform public speaking, do pro bono work, have at least one additional certification in their area of expertise, and have been published yearly.
Certified Career Management Coach (CCMC) This program consists of comprehensive training in career coaching, assessment instruments, career transition, career development, and job search (including research, personal branding, and interview skills). Candidates must pass a written test, and a rigorous live coaching session with an experienced coach to prove competency and earn the certification.
Certified Employment Interview
Professional (CEIP) Comprehensive training in solutions-based interview techniques that focus on developing a client's presidential message and a value-based presentation. The program focuses on the particular needs of executives.
Job Search and Career Transition Coach
(JCTC) The program focuses on reality-based tools and strategies needed for successful job changes and career transitions, planned or unplanned.
Nationally Certified Resume Writer
(NCRW) The "gold standard" in resume certifications, the NCRW is the industry's first renewable resume certification (term is for three-years). Certification must be maintained by clearly demonstrating commitment to current standards and career marketplace knowledge by earning CEUs through conference attendance, courses, publications, etc. The certification is difficult to earn and represents the highest standards, with only a 50% first-time pass rate. (Note! Deborah is now a member of the certification commission grading new NCRW candidates.)
Certified Professional Resume Writer
(CPRW) The industry's first, groundbreaking certification. This pioneering certification raised the bar on standards and professionalized the craft of resume writing in the early '90s.
